Today every skincare company claims to get instant results. Sadly, most of these claims are fake and every skincare product takes its own time to give tangible results. But these results depend on many things which we will discuss later. If you know how much time your skin care products take time to show results. It helps to measure the effectiveness of your product. So let’s start.

Skincare Products and The Time it Takes to Suit You

Cleanser (within a month)

The cleanser’s main job is to clean the face, make it even tone and maintain oiliness. Cleansers perform their main job immediately if you are using products based on your skin type. Within a month you can see the visible result on your skin.

Moisturizer (2-3 weeks)

The main job of moisturizer is to moisturize your face without making it oily and dull. But if you perform it consistently then you will get some other results like softer, and smoother skin, reduced acne, and others within 2-3 weeks.

Retinols

Retinols are one of the most researched ingredients that have many benefits such as removing dead cells, and slowing down melanin production. Retinol needs 6-8 weeks to show any beneficial results. You can use retinol-based cream or serum.

Serum

In the market, there are many serums available to focus on different types of skin concerns such as brightening effects, fine lines, and wrinkles. The serum effectiveness depends on the level of concentration. More likely serums take 6-8 weeks. But some serums like vitamin C take a little longer than 8 -12 weeks to show any visible results.

Sunscreen

You can say that sunscreen is the most essential skin care product that ever existed. The job of sun cream is to protect our skin from UV rays and pollution. You need to apply sunscreen wherever you go outside because the sunscreen starts showing results after applying 20 minutes. You can see the difference within a few hours but don’t expect any glowing and moisturizing effect from sunscreen. Its main job is to protect your skin from sunlight.

Factors That Matter While Starting a Care Routine

Skin type

Identifying your skin type is important for choosing the correct skin care product for your skin. Skin is classified into 5 types.

Oily skin: Oily skin has a shiny appearance and oil is produced all over the face. These people face acne and pimples. The ingredients that are good for them are salicylic acid, Niacinamide, glycolic acid, and tea. tree oil.

Dry skin: Dry skin has a dull appearance and flakes texture on the face. These people have more chances of wrinkles and aging. The ingredients that must be in their products are Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, Alea vera, and Ceramides.

Combination: Combination skin types have suffered from oil production on thier nose, chin, and forehead, and because of this problem they face acne and pimples. The best ingredients are green tea extract, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid. But there are other ingredients also that work wonders on their skins.

Normal skin: Normal skin types are blessed and they don’t need to face any major skin issues. They can use normal ingredients like aloe vera, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or both, vitamin C serum.

Sensitive skin: Before applying any new product on their skin it is important to consult with your dermatologist and only use sensitive skin products recommended by a dermatologist.

Skin Concern

Choose the products based on your skin type and skin concern. In the market there are so many science-based skin care products that help you achieve your beauty goals. But always remember to need at least 5-6 products to get good results. Not a single product can fix your problem. For example, if you want to close your pores then you go for a salicylic acid-based serum or cleanser, and if you want to brighten the effect then you can go for a glycolic acid-based cleanser and serum.

Supplement and Others

Products like cleansers, moisturizers, and suncream help you from the outside but if the a problem on the inside then you can use whatever you want to use you will never get good results. But if you are suffering from any deficiency then you can take a supplement to get rid of the deficiency and you will see sudden changes in your skin.

Chemical and Fragrance Based Product

When I say avoid chemical products I mean the products that use sulfate paraben alcohol and silicone. These products may give you instant results but in the long run, it will make your skin dry and dull. But you can go for highly concentrated products like AHA & BHA, salicylic acid, and others.

Conclusion

If you want to get visible results then you have to require patience and consistency. You can expect instant results from some skincare products like sunscreen, cleansers, and moisturizers. Some products like retinol and serums might take some time but you will get some results if you are consistent. But make sure you are using the product based on your skin type and skin concerns. But you need to take care of your body also.
