Exempt from obtaining a Turkish visa for travel for up to 30 days in a 180-day period


A person can travel to Turkey without a visa for up to 30 consecutive days if they hold a passport from one of the countries listed below. Citizens of the Vatican and Russian Federation are exempt from visa requirements for up to 90 days within a six-month period. Travel documents from Vietnam, Vanuatu, and Romania are also exempt from the need to obtain a visa.

Foreign press members can visit Turkey without a visa. The Turkish government issues temporary press cards for foreign journalists and photojournalists to work in the country. They must notify the Turkish government prior to their arrival. They should also notify the Turkish authorities if they intend to perform any important services. These permits are valid for up to 30 days and can be extended up to three months.


Documents required to apply for a Turkey visa



In order to get a Turkey Visa for US Citizens must submit the following documents. A valid passport is required. It must have at least one blank page. For sticker visas, it must be empty. The passport will remain at the Turkish embassy while the application is processed. Copies of the entry and exit seals are also required. If you intend to go on a business trip, you may submit a letter of invitation.

A valid passport or travel document must be presented at the time of application. US citizens with other nationalities must also present the same passport. If you apply for an e-Visa, your Turkish eVisa will be associated with the passport mentioned when you apply. This way, you won’t need to present printed documents at the airport, as the e-Visa is stored against your passport in the Turkey immigration system.
