Conroe ISD was established in 1892 and currently serves over 71,000 students on 70 campuses throughout its 348-square mile district that encompasses The Woodlands, Shenandoah, Oak Ridge North, Conroe and Grangerland along with various smaller towns, communities and unincorporated areas.

Enrollment

The District is one of the fastest-growing districts in California, as evidenced by its strong academic programs in all its schools. Students excel both academically and extracurricularly – earning thousands of college credit hours through advanced placement (AP) courses as well as multiple state and national accolades for extracurricular achievements.

New Student Registration Day will take place Saturday, July 29 at four CISD locations. Families should bring proof of address such as utility bills with names/addresses listed or rental agreements as proof; or purchase/lease paperwork relating to homes/apartments may also serve.

Students at this school performed above average on 2021 preliminary State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness test scores, meaning they will graduate prepared for college or career. This is an encouraging sign.

Conroe was established during a lumber boom in eastern Montgomery County’s Piney Woods during the late nineteenth century. To accommodate for White pupils attending, Conroe constructed a four-room schoolhouse while creating Madeley Quarters south of town as home for its Black pupils.
